Savour the Things of God

Since we live in a world that is constantly trying to call our attention and affections to the things of the earth, it is important that we periodically examine ourselves and recalibrate our hearts to an higher calling. Jesus’ sharp rebuke in Matthew 16:23 reminds us of how easily we can become a stumblingblock to the work of Christ when we lose sight of God’s purposes in favour of earthly concerns and pleasures.
